RPF’s Martyr Day On April 13, Citizens Urged To Join Memorial Service

IMPHAL, Apr 11: On the occasion of martyrs’ day (April 13), the proscribed RPF has conveyed deep respect to all martyrs who have laid down their lives in the course of the “liberation movement.”

The outfit also conveyed solidarity to the suffering people.

Taking the date of the battle of Kodompokpi, the outfit has been observing martyrs’ day every year on April 13 in fond memory of the thousands of martyrs who have laid down their lives in the course of the “liberation movement,” said a press release issued by the outfit’s Publicity Secretary T Leisemba.

It also appealed to all the people to attend the memorial service to be held at Cheiraoching on Wednesday.

The existing Indo-Manipur conflict can be resolved when the Government of India willingly track back from the fait accompli they committed against the people of Manipur.

Stating that the future of Manipur should be determined collectively by the 36 indigenous ethnic groups, the outfit asserted that sovereignty of Manipur can be achieved when all the 36 ethnic groups take a firm stand with full conviction towards this end.

However, if the ethnic groups continue to act in sync with the current time marked by the Government of divisive policies targeting different communities of the State, the goal of sovereignty would remain farfetched.

On the other hand, agents groomed and controlled by the adversary forces have been continuously committing all kinds of heinous crimes and violence with a design to project the revolutionary movement in wrong light.

This has compounded the woes of the already repressed people of Manipur.

The RPF called upon the people to identify and make a clear distinction between friends and foes.

It also appealed to all the people not to organize or indulge in any entertainment programs like cinema, drama, leela, musical programs or joint feasting.

The outfit further appealed to the people to offer light to the departed souls of the martyrs at every household in the night of April 13.
