NPO Committee Decries Biometrics Errors

IMPHAL, Apr 1: The NPO’s Committee on Census 2011 has decried the alleged intentional manipulative errors committed by the Senapati district administration in the ongoing biometrics process.

Questioning the hidden designs and motives behind such act, the committee has submitted a complaint letter to the Deputy Commissioner demanding immediate cancellation of the ongoing process and restarting it anew.

Alleging that the district administration under the present DC, in collaboration with some anti-people elements, tried to change a Naga village to some irrelevant village names like Makhrelui Bollen Kuki, Viewland Bollen Kuki etc, the committee lamented that this incident has jeopardized the whole exercise.

Such alleged hidden agenda of instigating communal tension in the district was highly uncalled for, the committee decried in a press release issued by its chairman ML Markson.

It demanded that the DC to intervene on the biometrics issue at the earliest and initiate fresh exercise.

It further demanded that the second phase census report in respect of Senapati district be submitted at the earliest. For the authority’s failure to address these grievances, the committee will not be responsible for any consequences in the future, it added.
