Murder Mystery Solved, Claims Bishnupur SP

IMPHAL, Mar 5: Bishnupur district Superintendent of Police (SP) K Jayanta claimed that Moirangthem Boboy Singh (30) s/o late Khamba of Kumbi and Ningthoujam (N) Nongmaithem (O) Romabati Devi alias Romapati alias Chittra alias Rebika (39) w/o Nongmaithem Mohendra Singh of Kumbi Awang Khunou were involved in the abduction and subsequent killing of Aircel tower security guard Khundrakpam Thoiba Singh s/o Ningthemjao of Nachou Kha Leikai.

In a press release issued today, the SP claimed, it has been ascertained during an investigation that the duo abducted Thoiba, after calling him out from his house, on February 2.

Thoiba was later killed at Naraseina Maning Leikai on February 9, the press release added.

Boboy and Romabati are still in the custody of Bishnupur police.

UG surrenders: A cadre of PULF (Azad) surrendered along with a 9 mm pistol loaded with two live rounds in the magazine to the BSF today.

Md Imran Khan (23) of Keirao Makting Awang Leikai laid down the arm before RK Thapa, DIG (G) Ftr Hq M&C BSF in the presence of Madan Lal, Commandant 116 Bn BSF, RK Mishra, Commandant of 13 Bn BSF and representatives of police at Shq BSF CI (Ops) Koirengei.

In his speech, DIG (G) Ftr Hq M&C BSF welcomed the surrendered UG for returning to the mainstream life.

He assured the family members that BSF would arrange all the benefits to the reformed cadre as per policy laid down by the Government.
