MPCC Chief For Public Vigilance

LAMKA, May 24: MPCC president Gaikhangam today called upon his party colleagues here to form village committee to oversee the implementation of his Government’s fifteen flagship schemes during a-day training on the schemes at Saikot Kendra.

Speaking alongside the local representative IPR Minister TN Haokip, Education Minister DD Thaisii, Minister Jayantakumar, Henglep MLA T Manga Vaiphei, ADC Churachandpur Chairman Langkhanpau Guite; Gaikhangam said forming such a committee will go a long way in ensuring equitable implementation of the schemes even at the grass roots level.

‘Molded a vigilance committee in the district and block levels to monitor the flagship schemes. Then compliment on its positive points and suggest your opinions on the negative ones,’ he exhorted…

Also addressing the training, Education Minister DD Thaisii said his Department will hand over a hundred high schools and 222 primary schools in the hill districts to the ADCs from the next academic session.

‘The session already being mid-way, we have decided to hand over the said schools in the next session despite the Cabinet decision to do so at the earliest,’ he said in response to the ADCC Chairman’s speech.

Speaking prior to the Education Minister’s speech, Langkhanpau Guite urged the Minister to ensure speedy dissolution of the schools for what he said is to rejuvenate the education system and strengthen the Congress party.

‘Please hand over and test us,’ he had told the Minister in his speech.

He had also pleaded the attending guest not to implement the proposed ADC Amendment Act as, he understands, it touches the sentiment of the people of Churachandpur.

‘The views and wishes I have shared are the views and wishes of the people. If you listen to us then victory is already assured for the party,’ he said.

In a unique gesture on their part, the Saikot Kendra Congress leaders presented a traditional bag (shoulder bag), which has been synonymous with the local MLA TN Haokip during his initial tenures in State politics. Over a dozen MDCs including one from Tamenglong also attended the training program.
