MOBC Minister States His Stand In ‘Commission’ Case

MOBC Minister Allauddin

IMPHAL, Apr 13: Minister of MOBC Md Alauddin Khan has refuted the charge of taking a sum of Rs 7.81 lakhs as commission under various poultry schemes undertaken by his Ministry as false and baseless.

According to official documents which are with The Sangai Express, the Minister was given the said amount as ‘supply commission’ out of the numerous programs initiated last year by the MOBC Directorate under its Economic Development Scheme. An employee of the Department namely B Malsawm withdrew the said amount from the account of the DDO and handed over the same to the Minister. The payment of the amount was recorded in the form of an undertaking on September 17, 2010 with Malsawn signing on a plain paper document along with signatures of the then MOBC Deputy Director Dr K Lokhol Singh and another staff of the Department named M Damu as the witnesses.

Talking to mediapersons in his office room in this connection today, Minister Alauddin Khan asserted that the false charges leveled against him have been framed up by Dr K Lokhol, who had been subsequently placed under suspension for misusing lakhs of rupees while he was the DDO and Deputy Director-I of the Department.

The signature of B Malsawn appended on the said alleged undertaking was not his own (Malsawn’s) but forged, but that of Deputy Director M Damu is real, the Minister said, while asserting that Damu had only put his signature on the undertaking in good faith at the request of Dr Lokhol.

Disciplinary action would be initiated against Deputy Director M Damu for having signed on the document, the Minister said, and pointed out that a departmental inquiry had already been against Dr Lokhol for misusing fund of the Department to the tune of Rs 67 lakhs.

Another departmental inquiry would also be initiated newly against Dr Lokhol and the fund misused by Dr Lokhol would be recovered from him by any means, the Minister said.
