KLO/KLA Flays Killing

IMPHAL, May 13: Kuki armed outfit, KLO/KLA has strongly condemned the killing of its president Paokhomang Khongsai and dumping his body underneath a culvert.

Talking to media persons  in connection with the killing somewhere in Saikul area today morning, general secretary of KLO/KLA L Timothy Kuki asserted that brutal act of killing Paokhomang even if he had committed some serious crime without ever giving a chance to rectify himself is inhumane and deserves to be condemned strongly by all.

The organization responsible for the killing should come out with an explanation at the earliest possible, Timothy demanded.

It may be recalled here that bullet riddled body of Paokhomang was found dumped underneath a culvert along the National Highway 39 at Kholep village under Sapermeina police station of Senapati on the night of May 8.

KLO/KLA is one of the constituent units of KNO, an umbrella organization of Kuki UG groups, which have signed Suspension of Operation truce with the Centre and State Government.

Timothy said body of Paokhomang was confirmed at the mortuary of RIMS only yesterday.

Timothy informed that Paokhomang left Dimapur for Imphal in the morning of Sunday last. But he was intercepted and shot dead be- fore he could reach the KLO/KLA headquarters.

When his family members enquired whether he had arrived at the headquarters on Monday, effort was made to find out his whereabouts, Timothy said, adding that KLO/KLA deeply mourn death of Paokhomang and share grief of the bereaved family.

The body of Paokhomang was reportedly taken to the headquarters of KLO/KLA where revolutionary salute was offered to the departed leader.

Timothy disclosed that KLO/KLA has started an investigation to find out killers of its president. In the meantime, vice president of KLO/KLA L Jacob Kuki would be in-charge as a caretaker president of the outfit.
