KCP-MC Joins Boycott Republic Day Slogan

IMPHAL, Jan 18: The armed outfit KCP-MC has declared a complete ban on the 62nd Republic Day, asserting that it has nothing to do with Manipur.

A press release issued by the outfit’s military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei asserted that those who love India may leave Kangleipak but there would no place for agents of New Delhi in Kangleipak.

Just as the Indians love India, Kangleichas are ready to sacrifice their own for their motherland.

Acknowledging that India is the second largest in the world in terms of military strength, the KCP-MC asserted that it has never under estimated India.

The outfit has been carefully studying on how to take on the alien force together with the cooperation of the people, it asserted. The outfit also condoled the demise of noted writer Maharaj Kumari Binodini.

After the departure of the British on August 14, 1947, a democratic election was held through adult franchise in July 1948. With the election of MK Priyobratta as the first Chief Minister, a democratic elected Govt was established in Kangleipak (Manipur) on July 27, 1948.

But the new republic was cut short with the alleged annexation of Manipur into the Indian Union on October 15, 1949.  Though Manipur was earlier a sovereign kingdom with all characters of an independent country, Manipur was reduced to a Part C State of India after 1950. On the other hand, excepting Sri Lanka, Manipur was the first country to establish an elected Government in the entire South East Asia.

Observing that countries like Bangladesh which got independence later have been arresting insurgent leaders taking shelter in their country and handing them over to India for some political gain, the outfit noted that such hostile activities produced severe impacts on the liberation of Kangleipak. The unfolding scenario demands that all the people of Kangleipak unite together to defeat the plans and strategy of the alien rule, Lanheiba added.
