Guardians Jump Into The Fray

IMPHAL, Feb 25: All Manipur Students’ Guardians Organization (AMSGO) has said that it will launch different forms of agitation if the State Government fails to bring an amicable solution with the agitating Government teachers within February 28.

Speaking at a press conference, AMSGO Working President N Chaoba expressed serious concern over Government’s stoic silence on teachers’ demand of implementation of the 6th Pay Commission in toto despite the fact that the stir has completed 45 days.

Expressing apprehension that the stir is likely to create problem in this year’s Class X and XII examinations, AMSGO urged the Government to bring an amicable solution at the earliest.

He added, the fate of 19, 970 students of Class XI are also still unknown as their promotion examination has not yet been conducted.

Taking part at the press conference, AMSGO President Rev Y Renghang Chothe informed that 22, 775 students are going to appear in this year’s Class XII examination.

Even if a special arrangement is made at private school centers, Rev Y Renghang added, around 4000 students would be left without any seating arrangement if the Government teachers remain unmoved with the demand.

He also demanded the authorities of the Education Department to take up necessary steps so that the examination is held in a proper manner.

Rev Y Rengphang also expressed concern over sending of teachers behind bars.
