Fuel Allocation To ROs To Be Increased

IMPHAL, Jan 20: Following improvement in the stock positions of petrol and diesel at Chingmeirong IOC depot, retail fuel outlets would be allotted greater quantities of fuel for distribution to the public.

Talking to The Sangai Express, Senior Divisional Retail Sales Manager of the Regional Sales Office KI Singh said that daily distribution of fuel would be increased to do away with the inconveniences being faced by the people due to restricted sale of petrol and diesel.

Coupled with the improvement in the condition of National Highways after the rainy season, a joint meeting of the officials of IOC Mumbai head-office, IOC Guwahati office and transporters agreed on raising the quantity of fuel oil shipment to Manipur.

Subsequently fuel oil stocks at Chingmeirong oil depot have improved considerably.  With this improvement, all efforts are being made to do away with the problems of fuel scarcity by increasing the daily quota of fuel allocation to the retail outlets, KI Singh said.

He went on to say that retail fuel oil outlets running dry as is being witnessed these days very often would be a thing of the past.

Secretary of the All Manipur Petroleum Products Transporters’ Association, Tamphayai said that around 45-50 loaded oil tankers arrive at Imphal every day.

Saying that oil tankers are being escorted by CRPF, Tamphayai said that even when there was no escort service on any day, the number of loaded tankers heading for Imphal increased to 70 to 80 Observing that the stock positions at Chingmeirong oil depot have improved considerably, Tamphayai said that the problem of fuel oil scarcity can be overcome by making increased allocation to the retail fuel outlets.
