CADM’s 2nd Book Released

IMPHAL, Jan 16: A compendium of essays titled Location, Space and Development published by Concept Publishing Company; New Delhi for the Centre for Alternative Discourse, Manipur (CADM) was released at Manipur Press Club here today.

The function began with the formal release of the book by Thingnam Ongbi Romita, wife of late Dr Thingnam Kishan, who was founder Editor of the quarterly journal Alternative Perspectives.

Notably, the essays which make the book Location, Space and Development were collected from articles already published in different issues of Alternative Perspectives.

The book was edited by Konthoujam Indrakumar and Homen Thangjam.

Konthoujam Indrakumar presented a brief narrative on Alternative Perspectives and CADM.

This was followed by critical comments on the book by Department of Economics, Manipur University Associate Professor Dr Ch Priyoranjan and Department of Anthropology, MU Associate Professor Dr MC Arun.

Homen Thangjam spoke about the book released today.

The function concluded with vote of thanks presented by Arambam Noni.

Incidentally, Location, Space and Development is the second book published by Concept Publishing Company, New Delhi, the first one being ‘˜Look East Policy and India’s North East.’

Thingnam Kishan, who was serving as the SDO of Kasom Khullen was abducted along with his subordinates in Ukhrul some years back and he and two of his subordinates, Token and Rajen were killed in a barbaric manner.
