Body Flays Govt On Kunjabihari’s Killing

IMPHAL, Jan 22: BJP Manipur Pradesh has decried the alleged failure of the State Government to find anything in connection with the killing of Chairman of Board of Secondary Education, Manipur Dr Kunjabihari.

BJP Manipur Pradesh president Shantikumar Sharma said that Dr Kunjabihari was found shot dead in his own office room located within the high security zone Babupara. But the Government has not been able to find out anything with regard to the killing. This shows that the Home Department and the Intelligence have failed.

He went on to point out that the incident of killing Dr Kunjabihari was not the first and many people have been killed in Manipur under mysterious circumstances. In protest against such killings, the public have launched various agitations demanding identification of the killers. But instead of solving the problem, the Government has been extending ex-gratia and offering job to pacify the bereaved families.

He further pointed out that the office of the Board of Secondary Education; Manipur is located just opposite to the Police Headquarters. It is an area where there is maximum security alert. But surprisingly, the Government has not been able to find out anything in connection with killing of a righteous person inside his office room so far.

If the Chief Minister is not being able to perform his duty, then he should relinquish the portfolio of Home and the killers of Dr Kunjabihari should be produced before the people at the earliest possible, he demanded.
