IMPHAL, May 22: All the job card holders of MGNREGS in Tamenglong district have been deprived of 17 days’ wages for the year 2010-11, according to Village Authority Chairman Council, Tamei subdivision of Tamenglong district.
Ch Poujiang, president of the Council alleged that job card holders of the scheme in the whole of Tamenglong district have not been paid for 17 days’ wages while the same had already been paid for the rest of the districts of Manipur.
The Village Authority Chairman Council chief said that the concerned authorities should look into the matter at the earliest so as to relieve off the weary villagers of Tamenglong district.

The Council president appeals the government to address these plights of Tamei subdivision at the earliest. He then terms the Tamei subdivision as the most backward subdivision of Manipur.
Meanwhile, the VA Chairman Council has lauded the CO and other officials of 10 Dogra Regiment for coming forward in helping the people of Tamei Hqs by supplying drinking water twice or thrice in a week.
