IMPHAL, Jan 12: Different bodies have condemned the killing of Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Manipur, Dr Naorem Kunjabihari Singh.

Taking serious note of the incident, All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU) said that killing of a dedicated teacher like Kunjabihari would bring a great loss to the student community of the State.

AMSU expressed wonder how the Chairman was shot dead inside his office chamber located at high security zone.

The students’ body also sought clarification from the concerned organization regarding the killing.

Strongly condemning the incident, Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) in a press release said that the killing would give a big blow to the students’ community.

As the office of BSEM is located at high security zone, KSA said, the killing might have carried out under a well planned conspiracy.

All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers’ Welfare Association has also decried the killing of Dr Kunjabihari.

The association urged the Government to appoint top posts in Board of Secondary Education Manipur and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur in fair manner.

The Government must be responsible for giving an impression that these two educational bodies have become a place for minting easy money, the association alleged.

Maintaining that his killing is a great loss to Manipur, the association urged the concerned to shun such senseless killings in future.
