IMPHAL, Nov 5: Along with sealing an oil pump located opposite the main gate of Manipur University on alleged charge of misusing the allocated diesel quota for public distribution, police have arrested four employees of the oil pump in this regard.

Police report said that 12 kilolitre of diesel had been issued to M/s Dwijendra Petroleums, Canchipur on November 3.

Although the oil pump reportedly supplied fuel to the public the whole day yesterday, it was found supplying fuel again in the wee hours today.

In addition to sealing the outlet, four employees including two pump men have been taken into custody by the police.

The four staff has been identified as Tomba of Kakwa, Mocha of Kiyamgei, H Sushil of Thongju and Jiten of Khurai. Sushil and Jiten are the pump men while the other two are staff, the police source added.

On the other hand, on condition of anonymity, some staff of the oil pump disclosed that after distribution of the diesel to the public the whole day yesterday, the remaining was sold early morning today when some police commandos came and demanded to know why the remaining fuel was being sold off without their knowledge.

Not long after that, a team of police from Singjamei police station arrived and arrest the four employees.

They also asserted that the fuel was supplied to the public from this oil pump from 5 am to 7 am today.
