Another 14 Days Remand For Meghen

IMPHAL, Jan 24: Arrested UNLF Chairman RK Meghen alias Sanayaima was produced before the Special Court of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) at Guwahati for the fourth time today.

After being produced at around 1 pm today, the NIA Special Court has remanded Meghen to judicial custody for 14 days till February 7.

Talking to The Sangai Express, the counsel of RK Meghen informed that along with the rebel leader, five other arrested alleged leaders/members of UNLF were also produced before the NIA Special Court today.

They are Nongyai alias Joy who was arrested from Guwahati; S Ramesh, M Landhoni and M Ibohal who have been charged as being UNLF members and  Dilip Nath of Guwahati, who has been arrested on alleged charge of providing shelter to UNLF cadres.

However, Maniton, who has been arrested on alleged charge of being a cadre of UNLF and was supposed to be produced in the Court, was not produced today.

The counsel further informed, that the NIA special Court directed the police not to handcuff Rakesh, Joy, M Landhoni, M Ibohal and Dilip. All five of them too have to appear before the court on February 7 again.
