Thangal Naga Festival Ang-Gee Pheo Tangnit Celebrated

IMPHAL, Jan 7: Thangal Naga festival, Ang-Gee Pheo Tangnit (feast of sanctification) was celebrated at Nteiramphung (Tumnoupokpi) village of Senapati district on January 5 last.

The program was jointly organized by Social Action for Tribal Areas Development Manipur (SATAD-M) and Thangal Naga Union (TNU) under the theme, ‘˜foster and preserve your culture’.

Traditional items like fire-making, seed sowing, cultural dances, traditional games, folk songs fusion with piano and hoing were the main attractions of the festival.

Tribal Research Institute (TRI), Joint Director Solomon Zingkhai, Deputy Director K Lunkim, ADC Kangpokpi, SATAD-M and TNU functionaries were present in the festival sponsored by TRI, said a press release.
