CSDO Crafts Bazar Opens In Ukhrul

UKHRUL, Feb 11: A ten-day crafts bazar organized by Craft and Social Development Organization (CSDO), Kongba Makha Nandeibam Leikai, Imphal East has kick started at Town hall, Phungreitang here today.

The fair is sponsored by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Minis- try of Textiles, Government of India. Commissioner Art and Culture and Secretary to the Governor Dr RK Nimai Singh was the chief guest, Brig Narender Kumar, DIG, 10 Sector, Assam Rifles, Rollee Vareishim, Assistant Director (H) Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicraft) Ministry of Textiles Government of India M&SEC and Ukhrul DC N Ashok Kumar were the guests of honor and president respectively. The first CSDO crafts bazaar in the district headquarters will continue till February 20.

Inauguration: Director of Vision 2020, a USA based organization; Jim Star inaugurated a Covenant Baptist Bible college and seminary at Ukhrul/Hunphun Phungreitang yesterday.

The Director also inaugurated Chapel hall cum Indo-Myanmar Baptist Mission (IMBM) office branch at Khai Ashat.

The site and campus of the land was generously donated by Ashang Shangcham, Proprietor of the Cambridge school.

Observing that the vision 2020 major missionary task is of the highest command with systematic evaluation planning and monitoring which does not limit its aim to reach the gospel of God news within Asia but the missionary enthusiasm and fervor of the true Christian work to rescue or save the real spiritual live of those whose soul gone- astray particularly in Ukhrul and Manipur as a whole in general.

Ukhrul AC lauded:

In view of the Good Samaritan works initiated for the welfare of poor students and underprivileged children, Assistant Commissioner of Ukhrul Armstrong Pame was lauded.

A press release signed by Secretary of Ukhrul Pettigrew College MK Miya along with the guardian of ‘Ningrin club orphanage Home’ at Alungtang, the only such children’s home in Ukhrul  Town, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assistant Commissioner for providing kerosene oil and rice to the students and orphans when the prices of the essential commodities are sky-rocketed.

Terming the AC Armstrong Pame as the only officer who extends empathy to the poor and needy persons, the press release stated that Armstrong is the only officer so far who has helped the students and the orphanage in this manner.
